What is your position at Aje?

I am the creative director of Aje, and my best friend Adrian Norris and I co-founded the label in 2008.

Who is the Aje woman?

The Aje woman is a free thinker; curious, cool, considered and also a little playful.

What do you love the most about the Resort 21 Collection?

Adrian and I are drawn to the duality of multiple meanings and the beauty of interpretation. For Resort 20/21 which we titled ‘Chroma’, we delved into colour theory; how colours are projected in different ways based on the wearer and what they wish to inject into the world.

I was so intrigued by the notion that same colour could have multiple perceptions, with the power to enhance mood or behaviour. This concept has been woven through each piece of the collection; each tone designed with purpose.

How does the Helen Kaminski brand compliment the CHROMA collection?

I believe we share a dedication to contemporary Australian statement style, with artisan and luxurious sensibilities.

The collaboration between us on the ‘Aleeya visor’ was an effortless one, focusing on unique and hand-crafted details, with a timelessness in mind.

Why does the Aje brand work so well with Helen Kaminski?

Uncovering Australia's natural splendour and diversity of people and land and feeding this into design has always been at the heart of Aje.

I believe Australia being more remote from other fashion capitals offers us a refreshing design perspective – definitely something we share with the Helen Kaminski brand.

What are you most looking forward to in 2021?

I feel the new year will bring about a time of recalibration and joy.
