COLLECTION

Helen Kaminski Spring Summer 2016 collection explores multiple influences with the art of reduction- curating lines, geometry and textures to inform a modern, minimalist seasonal identity.

Groups reference the refinement of the early 20th Century masters (The Artist), sleek sports active-wear (Sport-Luxe), modernised 1970’s hippy chic (Americana), while global ethnic micro-trend Primal Instinct takes us on a mini-trip with a small collection of high impact ‘abaca’ fibre bags.

In Spring Summer 2016 Helen Kaminski launches the new scarf collection. An innovative collection of 20 scarves made of the finest silks, linens and cottons sourced from across the world, the collection features two exclusively designed artworks re-invented using digital and traditional methods to suit a multitude of purposes. Whether worn on the body, head or with your Helen Kaminski hat or bag, scarves have been hailed by fashion leaders as the new style “must-have” with seasonal staying power. Yes, the scarf has certainly arrived.

THE CAMPAIGN:

Spring Summer 2016 embraces natural themes and traditional methods highlighted by the simplicity of the minimalist studio environment. It is clear the art of reduction is here.

Beauty is emphasised through contradiction. Intensity of spirit is captured intimately through the lens. Paired back styling in neutral tones conveys a sense of understated luxury against a monochrome studio palette, and tactile materials are pronounced using light and shade.

A paired back aesthetic and beautiful contradictions inform the evolution of the iconic Australian brand. The adage “Less, but better” (Dieter Rams, German industrial designer), describes the seasonal mood and evolution toward heightened simplicity and visual sophistication for the brand, conveying a sense of a coming of age.

World-renown fashion photographer Georges Antoni directed stills and moving imagery and the campaign is infused with a calm intensity. The minimalist in-studio aesthetic, which focuses on capturing the intimate in-the-moment connection between photographer and subject, communicates the mood of the season and the conceptual direction the brand is taking.

Helen Kaminski SS16 campaign features models Izzy Jarret, Yaya Deng, and Brooke Durant and rising star Seth Turnbull headlines for Kaminski XY.
